Absinthe Festival Boveresse 2008

We write the year 2008… This year it was time again to visit “La Fete de L’Absinthe” 2008 in Boveresse, Val-de-Travers, Switzerland. Day on: We met with a nice party crowd of Absinthe forum members and Absinthe enthusiasts and made a little walk to the famous cliffs of Val-de-Travers. After enjoying the beautiful view, we had some food and Absinthes in the famous restaurant on the hill top. Of course we were entertained by Nicola and her guitar… In the restaurant, we had some famous Swiss Cheese Fondue and sampled some glasses of vintage Absinthe. In the restaurant, the wooden walls are engraved by visitors. A. Junod, a famous Absinthe distiller of the 19th century was here as well. Some Absinthes later we headed home…

Next day the Absinthe festival in Boveresse was on the schedule. The distillers showed their portfolio. The famous Swiss alphorns were played on the festival as well. In the afternoon, a MTB Tour helped to get sober. Afterward we visited Claude Alain Bugnon, here with the world’s largest Absinthe Spoon. And after a wild party night with some glasses of Absinthe it was time to say goodbye to the Absinthe Festival Boveresse 2008!
