Boveresse Absinthe Fair: Road Trip 2007

It is already a while ago, to be precise it was the year 2007. We made a road trip to the Absinthe fair taking place in Boveresse, Switzerland. In the following paragraphs you can read some info about and see photos of our legendary Absinthe road trip to the Boveresse Absinthe fair. Enjoy reading!

Boveresse Absinthe Fair

We write the year 2007… Once again it was time for us to visit Switzerland for the Absinthe Festival in Boveresse. Our journey started from our headquarter in Cologne on 15.06.2007. The festival was on the next day, on 16.06.2007. After a short stop in Basel, right at the German / Swiss border we headed over to Couvet to meet Claude Alain Bugnon, the distiller of our Absinthe Clandestine, and some other Absintheurs, we already knew from the online Absinthe forums.

As Couvet is known for its excessive nightlife (just kidding..) we didn’t miss the chance to visit the local night club. After some glasses of Absinthe and wild “Pulp Fiction” dances on the dancefloor (just kidding #2) we prepared ourselves for the festival on the next day.

More or less no big surprises were shown there, except for the first green Absinthes of the Val de Travers, which had their preview in Boveresse. Therefore we grabbed our mountainbikes and took a ride on the local mountains, great fun! At the evening we had a typical “Fondue” at a hotel, which will be restored to an Absinthe experience hotel including a distillery in the cellar, where you will have the chance to distill your own Absinthe with professional advise. Like every year we partied out the day at the “aftershow” party in Boveresse. Many international Absintheurs met there and we had lots of fun with the Green Fairy and the local party crowd…
